Frequently asked questions/terms & conditions
Ordering
- Our calendar date picker is on every product page, if your date is available go ahead and book your cake.
- If your date isn't available, it's past our cutoff time sorry, or that day is booked out.
- cut-off for vintage cakes is 10am 3 days before
- cut-off for classic cakes is 10am 2 days before
- Find the cake you want.
- Customise to your taste if it's a vintage design.
- Select delivery / pick-up options at checkout
- Pay - once you've paid your order is confirmed. You'll receive a confirmation email straight away.
- We only accept custom designs for 8 inch and larger cakes,
starting at $180
- Email your inquiry at least 2 weeks before the date you need it for.
- No direct copies of others' work; no character cakes, and we only use buttercream icing.
You can have any of our vintage cake designs as a gender reveal.
Just write in the 'additional notes' section when customising...
Either:
1. the gender
2. or write that you will be dropping off a letter/emailing the gender at least 3 days before your order date.
We will replace the filling of your chosen flavour to pink or blue buttercream.
FYI: If the gender is given in the order notes when ordering, our automatic confirmation emails contain the details of your order, if you get a friend to order for you, DON'T PUT YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IN THE ORDER
If you are dropping a letter off later, the email doesn't matter.
Please email us 2 months in advance minimum.
Please look at any of our vintage designs for flavour options & available colour palette.
We can create a custom vintage design for your wedding cake, or you can select any design available on our website.
Pick-Up/ Delivery
Cake Care
- Icing may melt in a hot room or in direct sunlight for too long.
- Store in fridge (fresh up to 3 days)
- Serve at room temp - remove from fridge 2 hr before eating. Buttercream tastes soo much better at room temp when it's soft and velvety.
- Transport in a cooled car and out of the sun.
- Yes, the cakes stay fresh in the fridge up to 3 days before serving.
Order Changes
- Email us at least one week before your order date for changes; we may not be able to accomodate certain requests, and additional fees may apply.
- If you entered something incorrectly, email fromsugarcakes@gmail.com
- Email Stella (fromsugarcakes@gmail.com) for urgent issues like venue change or switching pickup to delivery.
Allergens
- We don't offer vegan, dairy-free, or eggless cakes.
- Some products have 'gluten-friendly' flavors with no added gluten, but may contain traces of gluten; not suitable for serious allergies.
Refund Policy
- We can offer refunds for cancellation requests, if the request has been made at minimum 72 hours in advance. This is not always the case, so please ensure to email as far in advance as possible.
We pride ourselves on the attention and care our team puts into every cake. We will do everything in our power to meet every customers expectations.
We know that sometimes things go wrong, and if that happens, our response will be dependant on how quickly you are able to inform us:
- Prior to serving and consumption: where possible, we will rectify the issue. If we are advised of the issue before the event, and are unable to rectify the problem, we will either consider replacement or compensation proportional to the issue. We can only offer full compensation if it is warranted, as decided by our team.
- During or after consumption: we are unable to provide compensation on a cake that has been fully consumed. Partial compensation will be considered in regard to the design, flavour or cake quality issues and will be proportional to the issue.
BY BOOKING, AND PAYING A DEPOSIT, YOU ARE AUTOMATICALLY AGREEING TO THE ABOVE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
